Master’s Academy of Fine Arts in Lake Jackson took 1st and 3rd place in the Robofest competition held in Galveston. The students learn to build and program robots to perform a mission. Final scores are based on a point system for elements of the mission. The teams were coached by Audrey Paul and Lori Tiemann. This is the first year MAFA has offered robotics classes to its students. There is a junior robotics program for students K-3 and middle robotics team for grades 3-8 with hopes to begin a high school level team in the near future. The school is very proud of all three teams that competed: The Unknown, Robo-riders and Gears.
